Beware of Delivery Reschedule Scam Messages!

Hello, everyone! Today, I want to share a story based on my recent experience. As you can tell from the title, this is a warning message related to a delivery reschedule scam. It's essential to stay alert and avoid falling for such scams.

A while ago, I woke up and, as usual, reached for my smartphone to check messages. However, something out of the ordinary happened that day. While scrolling through my smartphone's messages, I came across what seemed like a message from Canada Post. The message stated, "Click this link to reschedule your delivery."

 

Of course, my initial thought was, "Could there be an undelivered package?" I tried to read the message with caution, but nothing seemed amiss. It was early in the morning, and I hadn't fully awakened, which may have affected my judgment.

So, I clicked on the link. 

 

 

As soon as I did, it took me to a website that appeared to be linked to Canada Post. It prompted me to enter delivery information. Up until that point, despite my initial suspicion, I hadn't recognized the signs of a scam.

Thankfully, I didn't enter any financial or personal information and simply exited the website.

This experience taught me a few valuable lessons:

1. Always exercise caution with smartphone messages. Especially before clicking any links, carefully verify the sender.

 

2. When it comes to delivery-related messages, use the official website or app of the relevant company (e.g., Canada Post) to check delivery status.

3. Be skeptical of any message requesting personal or financial information. If asked for such information via email, message, or phone, independently verify using official contact details from the organization.

4. Watch out for social engineering attacks. Scammers often use tactics to gain your trust.
